What is the TurkishWIN Mentoring Program?

One of the trademark experiences we offer at TurkishWIN is our mentoring program. We cannot wait for you to join us! 

The TurkishWIN mentoring program matches TurkishWINners with peer-to-peer, senior-to-junior, Diaspora-Turkey, or local mentor/mentee connections. You decide whom you would like to meet! 

For example, you can pick a reverse mentor like  Oya Günay. Oya was matched with İris Özbek, her reverse mentor. In her own words:  "Here we are having our session on skype and my amazing mentor İris who has finished university and started working in the marketing area is reaching me out from Istanbul. I must say it is a great experience for me and I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to benefit from different perspectives." Oya Günay, Executive Coach and Strategy Partner

Or you may be matched with a mentor who can share with you her experiences like Zeynep Yalım Uzun, Chief Marketing Officer at Arcelik Global (mentor) and Begüm Arş Türk, Chief Marketing Officer of Logo Yazılım (mentee). Zeynep sums up her experience as follows: ‘As an avid believer in women’s circles and one of the long standing supporters of TurkishWIN, I was very happy to oblige when I was approached to  become a Turkishwin mentor. When I met Begüm, I was impressed by her energy and personality, as well as her willingness to work through the challenges of business life. Throughout our mentoring  journey, I enjoyed the time we spent together and was inspired by our interactions. I am happy to say that Begüm is now a part of my circle and no doubt over the years, we will keep on supporting each other to grow further. I would like to thank the Turkishwin team for giving us this opportunity to meet and grow together.’ 

We recommend that our matched mentors/mentees have at least 6 meetings in this six months long program and meet more frequently in the first couple of months. After six months, you will decide whether to continue or end the program. This mentoring program guideline includes information on roles and responsibilities, a cheat sheet of questions for you to get to know each other, tips in structuring your partnership, and suggestions for your first meeting.

How Does It Work?

It is easy breezy! Follow these 4 quick steps: 

Mentees

1. Create a mentee profile (under edit profile menu)
2. Pick a mentor and indicate your interest at https://turkishwin.com/mentors
3. You will hear back directly from your mentor re: the application in 3 weeks.
4. The next steps of your mentoring journey will be communicated via email.

Mentors

1. Create a mentor profile (under edit profile menu)
2. Your profile will be listed at https://turkishwin.com/mentors
3. You will hear from interested mentees. We ask that you respond re: the match in a 3 week grace period.
4. The next steps of your mentoring journey will be communicated via email.
